I'm seeing a lot of "shut up about the election" stuff online. And you know what? By saying shut up about it...you're just making people talk more about it. Whatever I post in here, it's because I was and am SO excited that Obama won. If I gloat at all, it's because people I know (no, not just you Xtina) tried to shove their politics in my face. There's only so much of being "the bigger person" when you constantly have shit thrown at you. Any political talk that I've had here or anywhere else for that matter, was a response to people. I've always, for as long as I've had an opinion about it, been a liberal. I'm not a "scene" liberal and I'm also not blind to the other side of the fence. Sure, I don't agree with a LOT of conservative points, but there are a few things that I do agree with. If people wouldn't have annoyed me to my breaking point during this election season, I wouldn't have gotten bitter or gloated at all. I didn't do it last time when Bush won, and I was pissed about that too, so I wouldn't have done it now. In fact, I really used to like John McCain. When he made a previous bid for President (obviously Bush got to be the Republican candidate), I was all for it. Because even though he was Republican, I thought he would've made a good President. But now, he just seemed SO different and it turned me off and picking Palin..Really John McCain, really? I really don't think she lost the election for him, but she certainly didn't help. And I thought maybe I was just not remembering correctly when I remembered liking McCain, it was a long time ago .Then I watched The Daily Show one day, and Jon Stewart echoed my thoughts exactly. And for fuck's sake...this election was hella historical, emotions are going to be ridiculous. Two days later and people are sick of hearing about it? Yeah, that's realistic. Sure, it was a long (very long) election season...but, the President was elected, it's a big deal. That's not even me being a dick...it's just like "wtf?" However....the best part of this election was that so many people actually voted. Through all the shit, that was awesome. The long ass line I waited in kinda sucked, but it was nice to see.
With that said...I am unhappy (to put it VERY lightly) about Prop 8. The country surprised me, to be honest, electing a black President, because of how bigoted people can be. The country is obviously taking steps forward, which is Amazing...but then we take steps back too. It's sad. Straight people that vote for that horse shit, I think, aren't being empathetic. What if they were the ones denied the right to be married? Put yourself in someone else's shoes and mind your own damn business..assholes. I read Whitney's post the other day about the bigotry that her and her bf face...totally know how that is, sister.
Some people just suck...no matter who we have as President. I just hope Obama brings the change that the country needs..or at least leads us in the right direction.
I'm not even allowing comments on this entry...I don't feel like bickering with people. Just like you guys who are sick of hearing about the election vented, I needed to as well.

So so so so glad Obama took it. My long wait in the voting line was soo worth it. I had to update because I'm too excited right now, and it's kinda sad. Excited...Not gloating. Well..not gloating Yet...haha.

What was the last concert you attended?: Breaking Benjamin at my college
How many people were there?: too many. it was probably the worst floor experience I've ever had at a concert.
What bands have you seen in concert the most and how many times?: Evanescence- 8 or 9 times and Breaking Benjamin the same amount or more

So I don't know if I just never realized this and everyone knew or wtf, but I just thought of something oddly dirty. I am sitting here eating a mounds candy bar.
